Zombies

INSTALLATION

This is different from all the other resources we sell. This is an entire server setup. It comes as a resources folder with several resources already in it. You can add to it if you desire but you should make sure what you add goes with the survival theme of this resource

> SETUP A CLEAN TXADMIN SERVER

We recommend NOT using your regular server setup for this. Be sure to keep your main server and this one separate so you can go back when you need to. Create a new blank, fresh, txadmin install (not ESX or QB).

Hint: Choose POPULAR RECIPIES and then CFX DEFAULT FIVEM recipie when installing.

Hopefully you have experience (or your dev does) in setting up a txadmin server. Here is a guide in case you need it.

> AFTER THE SERVER IS INSTALLED

Open the downloaded ZIP file and drop the resources folder in it and overwrite the resources folder in the fresh install. It's OK to say YES to overwriting the files.

  1. Add your product key (get it here) to the settings.ini for BigDaddy-Zombies file.

REQUIREMENTS

This requires BigDaddy-HUD 1.8.1+ and BigDaddy-DeathManager 2.1.1+ to run (not included). You must either already own them or purchase them separately for this Zombie resource to work. PolyZones is also required (not a Big Daddy script) but it is free and included in this resources as a convenience. settings.ini files ARE included for both the HUD and Death Manager so the settings are correct for this resource. Use the settings.ini that comes in the ZOMBIES resources folders of BigDaddy-HUD and BigDaddy-DeathManager for both of those.

Take the server.cfg from the zip and overwrite the server.cfg from the fresh install (be sure to make a backup).

GAME BUILD

You will notice this cfg is set to run on game build 3258, THIS IS REQUIRED. There are resources in that build that are necessary for this script to run properly. So don't change the game build.

Enter the proper cfx key and ports and permissions into the new server.cfg that you want for your server.

Change the mysql_connection_string to point to your database with the proper credentials (see below for database setup)

NOTE

vMenu comes included and setup (most options are disabled for the spirit of the survival game) and uses admin and moderator permissions to give admins a few more options so they can do admin type things in the server if needed.

> DATABASE

There are inventory tables that need to be created in your database. If you do not have a database you will need to set one up. Run the InventoryTables.sql in your database to create the tables and prefill it with inventory categories and items.

INVENTORY ITEMS

There are three bags that are in the bd_zinventoryitems table. The model_data column is the component id for those bags. Sometimes different servers have different ids for components where they are off by 1 or so. Be sure to check your server to confirm those component IDs are the bags in the inventory images. If not, they will have strange things on the players when it adds a bag.

Game Play

Anywhere that is a hospital or has hospital beds (some are triage zones) is a safezone. There is NO KILLING and NO STEALING within a safezone... it's SAFE. Zombies might enter a safezone but they don't like them and usually will very quickly turn and run away.

You MUST be using an MP Ped or you'll get turned into a zombie within a couple of minutes. When you first spawn in you will show up as some random conglomeration of an MP ped. That's just a random ped generator. If you want to shuffle the character you are given you can use /zrando or for females /zrandof and it will regenerate a ped. When you die, it'll regenerate again so you are someone new. That's just for fun.

When you first start you have NOTHING but a bag. You can scavenge most trashcans and dumpsters and vending machines by walking up to them and following the prompt. You may or may not find items in it. You WILL need food and water and weapons to survive. There are also items that spawn around the map on the ground or on roofs etc. The ones spawned in the world usually have a pink outline around them because they are hard to find (that can be turned on and off in the config for the server). That outline is a bit iffy since it's a GTA thing that isn't really meant to be used in scripts like this so sometimes it doesn't network well. You can only carry around 18 (configurable) items in your bag.

There is a hunger and thirst gauge at the bottom. Also a stress gauge. When near zombies, the stress will go up. If it stays up too long you will lose health. Being near a safe zone it will go down faster. Also if you set up camp using tents (/camping) that becomes a small safezone.

You can also find vehicles around the world, although not often.

Ammunation locations have ammo in a wooden box with a red H on them. Those will give you ammo for guns that you have in your inventory.

If you are brave you can go to Zancudo and there are two weapon/ammo dumps there where you can load up and I mean really load up. BUT, you will most likely trigger a military response and they come guns blazing so be prepared. We are not sure it's possible to get away, no one has yet. The ammo/weapon dumps are a group of pallets with stuff on them. You'll know them when you see them. They are not hidden, they are pretty much in the open.

The prison also has some guns and ammo but it is HIGHLY infested with the undead.

There are also FOB setup around the map where you can hunker down a bit if needed but you will have to be well stocked to stay there any length of time.

When you die you lose everything but your bag. Then you have to start over. When you die, you will respawn at a random respawn point. So dying is very costly.

You can kill someone and steal their stuff. Or take it after they die by other ways. You can rob them at gunpoint and they can drop their stuff to stay alive. Staying alive is pretty important because of the loss that comes with dying.

To eat or drink, pick those items in the inventory and USE them. Your gauges will reflect the nourishment. If you don't, it'll kill you eventually. Also, as you get really hungry and/or thirsty, you will slow down and your stamina will be short.

There are Med packs and bandages. Use those like you would any inventory and they will give you health. The number in the inventory screen is how much health is left in the item to give.

Your inventory is PERSISTANT. That means if you leave the game, it will still be in your bag when you come back. If you crash, it'll still be there, too.

ONLY IF YOU HAVE BigDaddy-VehicleDamage

If you are in a vehicle and can find the red toolchests around the map, if you pull up to it you'll see a prompt to repair your vehicle. It's slow. Beware.
