INSTALLATION

This is different from all the other resources we sell. This is an entire server setup. It a specific setup with specific resources so be sure to follow all the instructions below to install it successfully.

> SETUP A CLEAN TXADMIN QBOX SERVER

We recommend NOT using your regular server setup for this. Be sure to keep your main server and this one separate so you can go back when you need to. Create a new blank, fresh, txadmin install (QBox).

Hint: Choose POPULAR RECIPIES and then QBOX recipie when installing.

Hopefully you have experience (or your dev does) in setting up a txadmin server. Here is a guide in case you need it.

> AFTER THE SERVER IS INSTALLED

in the [qbx] folder on your server remove everything but the following:

In the qbx_smallresources folder remove all except the following:

If you have BigDaddy-Seatbelt (recommeded) you should remove qbx_seatbelt from the main [qbx] folder.

If you have BigDaddy-PushVehicle you should remove qbx_vehiclepush from the qbx_smallresources folder.

Open the downloaded ZIP file and drop the resources folder in it and overwrite the resources folder in the fresh install. It's OK to say YES to overwriting the files.

  1. Add your product key (get it here) to the settings.ini for BigDaddy-Zombies file.

REQUIREMENTS

This requires BigDaddy-DeathManager 2.1.1+ to run (not included). You must either already own it or purchase it separately for this Zombie resource to work. PolyZones is also required (not a Big Daddy script) but it is free and included in this resources as a convenience. settings.ini file IS included for the Death Manager so the settings are correct for this resource. Use the settings.ini that comes in the ZOMBIES resources folders of BigDaddy-DeathManager for that.

GAME BUILD

This needs to be set to run on game build 3258, THIS IS REQUIRED. There are resources in that build that are necessary for this script to run properly.

> DATABASE

QBox and OX Inventory require a database, as do many QBox scripts.

INVENTORY ITEMS

There are three bags that are in the bd_zinventoryitems table. The model_data column is the component id for those bags. Sometimes different servers have different ids for components where they are off by 1 or so. Be sure to check your server to confirm those component IDs are the bags in the inventory images. If not, they will have strange things on the players when it adds a bag.

RECOMMEDED BIG DADDY SCRIPTS

There are several of our scripts that enhance the zombie world very well and some that were built specifically for it:

  • Ambient Effects - Lets you put persistent fires, smoke, ash and sand storms on the map to ehance the environment atphosphere.
  • Apocalypse Roulette - A "lucky wheel" script built for the apocalypse. You can bet items from your inventory and possibly multiply them if lucky or be killed if not so lucky.
  • Camping - The zombies hate tents and will typically stay away from them so the camping script comes in very handy.
  • Custom Plates - I've added a plate theme that puts apocalyptic plates on the vehicles. custom plate
  • Dumpster Hide - You can hide in dumpsters to get away from both zombies and enemy players. Zombies know you are in there but can't get to you.
  • Earthquake - Random earthquakes to add the atmosphere and the danger.
  • Fishing - You can fish for food that you can eat which becomes very important in this world
  • Hat and Glasses - Pick up your hat and glasses after they get knocked off. You'll need both in the harsh world.
  • Push Vehicle - Allows you to push vehicles.
  • Radio Animation - Adds animation to using the radio in the game.
  • Seatbelt - You can buckle up to protect yourself from injury in accidents. If not buckled this also handles being ejected from the vehicle in a collision.
  • Sunday Driver - When toggled on this keeps you at or near the speed limit and limits rabbit starts. Just helps you drive sanely because it's difficult to drive in this world.
  • Telescopic - Allows you to use any of the telescopes in the game already and you have binoculars you can use anytime
  • Urban Surfin - This is a MUST in this world. It allows you to ride on a vehicle anywhere. So the roof, trunk, trailer, whatever. So more people can ride in vehicles instead of just what the seats hold. Absolutely one of the most valuable scripts in the apocalypse.
  • Vehicle Damage - Adds a whole new challenge if your vehicle gets damaged so you have to be much more careful
  • Voice Marker - The classic script to know who is talking.
  • Weather - This weather is Big Daddy's fantastic weather script that has real progression of weather types and now incorporates the ability to whitelist weather types so the apocalypse can always be cloudy or gloomy or whatever you want.
  • Disasters - There are several disaster scripts that can add another level of danger to your apocalyptic world

RECOMMEDED THIRD PARTY SCRIPTS

You will need a character manager. QBox comes with illenium-appearance which will work fine. There are others out there and you can use any that you like. We like tgiann multichar.

We also like rcore clothing but it is not a requirement.

If you are interested in base building and scavenging, check out 5scripts gathering and building scripts.

We recommend Advanced Parking from kiminaze. It keeps vehicles persistent so if you hide a vehicle in the brush, it'll stay there until someone moves it. Adds a lot.

KuzQuality has a few scripts we think adds to this experience as well: Air Drop, Real Offroad, Towing and we love the AnimSuggest script.

HOW TO PLAY

COMMANDS

Game Play

You can also find vehicles around the world, although not often.

Ammunation locations have ammo in a wooden box with a red H on them. Those will give you ammo for guns that you have in your inventory.

If you are brave you can go to Zancudo and there are two weapon/ammo dumps there where you can load up and I mean really load up. BUT, you will most likely trigger a military response and they come guns blazing so be prepared. We are not sure it's possible to get away, no one has yet. The ammo/weapon dumps are a group of pallets with stuff on them. You'll know them when you see them. They are not hidden, they are pretty much in the open.

The prison also has some guns and ammo but it is HIGHLY infested with the undead.

There are also FOB setup around the map where you can hunker down a bit if needed but you will have to be well stocked to stay there any length of time.

When you die you lose everything. Then you have to start over. When you die, you will respawn at a random respawn point. So dying is very costly.

You can kill someone and steal their stuff. Or take it after they die by other ways. You can rob them at gunpoint and they can drop their stuff to stay alive. Staying alive is pretty important because of the loss that comes with dying.

To eat or drink, pick those items in the inventory and USE them. Your gauges will reflect the nourishment. If you don't, it'll kill you eventually.

There are Med packs and bandages. Use those like you would any inventory and they will give you health.

Your inventory is PERSISTANT. That means if you leave the game, it will still be in your bag when you come back. If you crash, it'll still be there, too.

ONLY IF YOU HAVE BigDaddy-VehicleDamage

If you are in a vehicle and can find the red toolchests around the map, if you pull up to it you'll see a prompt to repair your vehicle. It's slow. Beware.
