INSTALLATION

  1. Open the downloaded ZIP product file and drop the folder in it somewhere in your resources folder.
  2. Add your product key (get it here) to the settings.ini file
  3. Add start BigDaddy-K9 to your server.cfg.

DO NOT RENAME THE FOLDER.

If you change the name of the folder it will not function correctly so leave the name as it is.

CONFIGURATION

randomSearchResults false If set to true, the dog will search the vehicle and automatically either find something or not based on the value on the next line
chanceSearchFound 50 Valid values 0 - 100, with 100 being something found every time and 0 being something never is found. The higher the number the more chance there is the dog will find something during a search.
commandAnims false whether to show the hand signals and such, can be toggled on each client
addonDogs none if you have addon dogs you want to use, add them here
policeK9door 2 which door on police cars k9 should get in -1 = not set / 1 = passenger / 2 = back left / p3 = back right
[keys] This resource includes a validkeys.txt file that contains all the valid and usable keys. What you put in the config must match exactly what is in that file.
ModifierKey LEFTALT Commands are double keys, i.e. ALT+HOME. This sets the first key. Leave it blank if you only want to use one key commands. This key if set must be pressed in combination with all of the following keys for their commands.

[locales] You have the ability to change most of the on-screen text to whatever language or wording that you want. You can tell what most are by the value they are initially set to in the config file. If you have questions about one, Google Translate or you can ask us.

COMMANDS

sit Dog will sit (has hotkey)
speak Dog will bark (has hotkey)
come Dog will come to you and continue to follow (has hotkey)
bite After you issue this command, look for [E] Bite prompts on other peds and when you press [E] you will initiate the attack. The dog will continue to attack until you stop them or the ped is dead. Stop attacking using ALT+DELETE (also has a hotkey for this command)
down Dog will lie down (has hotkey)
car If you are in a car, the dog will get into the car you are in. If you are not in a car, it will get into the car you are closest to and looking at. If the dog is already in a car, this command will tell him to exit. (you can also use the COME hotkey (ALT+HOME by default) for this command)
searchvehicle You will see prompts on screen on vehicles around you that say [E] SEARCH (the E is whatever you have set in the config for the attack key). When you press [E] (or whatever is in the config) the dog will circle the vehicle and the chat will display messages about WDIF. You then use the k9alert command after you know the results. This is only available for the bigger dogs.
searchperson You will see prompts on screen on people around you that say [E] SEARCH (the E is whatever you have set in the config for the attack key). searchvehiclebombs Initiates a bomb search on the vehicle. This works with BigDaddy-Bombs script or if that script isn't on the server, it will give prompts for the suspect to answer via chat
/k9signals none Toggles the hand signals off and on for the commands

HOTKEYS

All of these are the defaults but can be changed in the settings.ini - see configuration above

ALT+PG DN Initiates BITE mode - once pressed you will see [E] Bite prompts on attackable targets. Press [E] when the prompt is on who you want to attack. The dog will continue to attack until you stop them or the ped is dead. Stop using ALT+DELETE or ALT+HOME. (The [E] will be whatever key you have set in the config for the attack key)
